I am a mixed-media filmmaker based in Scotland whose work explores the qualities, rituals and aesthetics of different media formats, with a focus on
DIY 16mm processes. My practice examines human relationships with plants and the wider non-human world as forms of everyday resistance to structural violence. I am particularly interested in where rational and magical thinking collide, using film to investigate alternate ways of knowing and the otherworldly.
My background in social anthropology shapes my research and my filmmaking approach. I first encountered artist film on residency with Alchemy Film and Moving Image in 2019, which expanded my practice and deepened my interest in experimental documentary forms. In 2023, I was commissioned through Bridging the Gap at the Scottish Documentary Institute to create Friends on the Outside, which won best short doc at Slamdance, Glasgow Short Film Festival, Galway Film Fleadh, and a nomination for a Scottish BAFTA.
