CASA DO XISTO LAB 2025


The 16mm Immersive Laboratory took part over 7 days at Casa do Xisto, Portugal. Participants shot and develop 16mm films using caffenol and plant based developers, ending in a public screening with Curtas Vila do Conde International Short Film Festival.

BAL FILM SCHOOL 4 2024


In collaboration with Baltic Analog Lab and Filmwerkplaatz, BAL Film School is an advanced course in experimental film techniques via a series of in-person and online workshops over 5 months, with guest speakers and tutors including Peter Tscherkassky, Emmanuel Lefrant, Ben Rivers, Esther Urlus, Richard Tuohy, Ben Russel, Dagie Brundert and Bill Morrison.

WAKE UP, HANDS
IMPRINT COLLECTIVE 2022



Made in response to embodied filmmaking workshop with IMPRINT Documentary Collective, 2022.

Filmed while self-isolating using screen recordings, I try to locate my body in space. Over zoom my mother and I do Betty Martin’s somatic exercise “waking up the hands” and explore the significance of touch and attention.

Cucujaes, Portugal, 2020. A collaborative lab developed in accordance with non-competitve work processes, knowledge sharing and public screenings.

For two weeks 18 people lived and worked together in an uninhabited mansion in Northern Portugal. perelandra is a response to this place, where the few objects remaining included angelic statues, a chest of old magazines and sewing patterns, and a book on gardening written in both the voice of the author and the voice of nature spirits.

Residency at Cafe Tissardmine, on the edge of the Moroccan Sahara, 2018. Led by Dr Richard Ashrowan, Alchemy’s founder and former Creative Director, the residencies provided a supportive environment for artists to develop skills and knowledge in experimental film and artists moving image practice.
